Iltani stood at the foot of the portal and scanned the required incantations. What a strange spell he thought as he focused and invoked the portal to power up:
In the year 105105, if man is still alive, if robot can survive they may find
In the year 252525, the backwards time-machine still won’t have arrived
In all the world there’s only 1 technology, a rusty sword for practicing proctology
In a future year that ends in with a 20, a schlubby merman’s gonna try to get chummy
He may look like a watery wimp, when in fact he’s a blood-thirsty shrimp
In the year 1,000,000 and a half, human kind is enslaved by giraffe
Man must pay for all his misdeeds when the tree-tops are stripped of their leafs.
…and he stepped through the thinny-portal; as he floated through the darkness between worlds Tor reflected on his recent travels. Again he was chasing another abhorrent creature, but this one was different, this one could travel between worlds. He had forgotten how many worlds he had stalked his prey through but he was glad that he had found a world with stable portals; he was getting tired of jumping through breaks in reality and hoping for the best (he ended up in a fire world once) or trudging through god-forsaken places looking for mystics.
Iltani neared the entrance of the world his quarry had fled to (he checked his Oath’s paths twice just to be sure), he readied himself for whatever was on the other side. Iltani emerged on through and took in his surroundings: a warm dank jungle not unlike the one he just left. He had seen many jungles like this one in his long lifetime and was, in-fact, from one. As he traveled through the jungle, he was not surprised to find creatures of the same race as he; he learned that in this world, he was called a Wilden and that this plane’s name was Murganda. After refilling on supplies and a good night’s rest, he set off in the direction of his prey.
